General Information on Our Program

2nd Grade (Pee Wees)

Clinic style training held one day per week on Saturdays focusing on the basics…dribbling, shooting, layups and defense. As the season progresses, players will begin 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 drills with the goal of working towards game like situations. The girls play with a regulation sized woman’s basketball (28.5 inch). The registration fee covers gym space, insurance, a team shirt, basketball, and a participation trophy. The clinic takes place at Brookside Elementary School.

3rd and 4th Grade (Bantam Division)

Participants are divided into teams based on bad practice day and the desire to have a balance of 3rd and 4th graders on each team. Teams practice once a week and games are on Saturdays. Games are kept simple…4v4 with a coach from each team serving as the point guard.  No score is kept, coaches serve and playing time will be equal (depending on the number of players on each roster, we cannot guarantee 50% playing time but they will get plenty of run). The goal is to teach the basics of the game and to provide game situations that are fun with minimal pressure. The registration fee covers gym space, referees, insurance, a team shirt, basketball, and a participation trophy.

Volunteer coaches are needed at all program levels. Please indicate your interest in coaching in the appropriate section of the registration form or through a board member listed in the Contact List tab.

5th and 6th Grade (Junior Division)

Each team practices one night per week and games are held on Saturdays. The regular season consists of 8 – 10 games followed by playoffs and a championship game. Every team makes the playoffs regardless of season record. Every player should receive at least 50% playing time throughout the season. The registration fee covers gym space, referees, insurance, a team shirt, and trophies.

Volunteer coaches are needed at all program levels. Please indicate your interest in coaching in the appropriate section of the registration form or through a board member listed in the Contact List tab.

Facility Rules

  • We need to follow the school district rules and the YCCC building rules. If we do not, the privilege to use the gyms can be taken away from us and we will not be able to run our program.
  • Enter the school from the back of the building (no one is allowed to enter from the front).
  • The school will keep the doors locked at all times. It is everyone’s responsibility to make sure the door is locked behind them once they enter. NEVER PROP THE DOOR OPEN. The club will lose the gym. Make sure all visitors  know the rules also.
  • No hanging out in the hallways. Siblings MUST ALWAYS be supervised.
  • The bathroom that we can use is located near where we enter. Please keep it clean at all times.
  • Clean up after yourself when you are leaving the gym. Please do not bring disposable, plastic water bottles.  Please bring only reusable water bottles so that we reduce the amount of garbage in our gyms.
  • No earrings or casts allowed while playing.
  • Enjoy and have a great season!
